Humans can see millions of distinct colors. But the human language offers only a small set of names for a few colors.

The vast majority of people in the world know just 11 colors.

Even people who work with colors all the time like artists and interior designers go by just 50-100 words for colors and that’s a tiny fraction of 16 million plus colors we can see and distinguish.
